Saba is no longer actively maintained and will not work with recent versions of astropy or Sherpa. If you want to use a wider range of opimizers in astropy, we recommend to look at optimagic.
Saba
A GSOC 2016 project which allows astropy.modeling to interface with
Sherpa's fitting routines.
The documentation can be found on read the docs.
