GemPy Gallery

This repository is a collection of gempy models built and shared by the community. It should (mainly) comprise real-world examples of open geological models built with GemPy. Further, here we gather links of some more diverse GemPy material, be it blog posts, written tutorials, or videos!

🚀 Applications of GemPy

This list is meant to give an overview over existing GemPy models created, projects in which GemPy was used, and who uses it. Models which are included in this repository are marked with a :whitecheckmark: symbol.

🌍 Real-world models

  1. New Jersey shelf model - Combination of geological modeling with geostatistical modeling of petrophysical parameters - Ariel Thomas & Jan von Harten
  2. Gottesacker model - Hydrogeological modeling of a karst aquifer - Chloé Fandel
  3. Aargau model - assessment of heat flow and geothermal potential in a graben setting in northern Switzerland - Jan Niederau
  4. Gulfaks fields - assessment of uncertainty in 3D models and its reduction with topology information - Alexander Schaaf
  5. Aachen Weisweiler - depth uncertainty of potential geothermal reservoir layer - Alexander Jüstel
  6. Münster - regional geothermal study - Alexander Jüstel
  7. Einstein Telescope - comprehensive geological modeling at the potential ET site - Florian Wellmann, Nils Chudalla
  8. Kevitsa Deposit - Model-based inversion with magnetic data - Nilgün Güdük
  9. :whitecheckmark: Alès area - modeling 12 years of geological mapping - Elisa Heim
  10. :whitecheckmark: Greenstone model - Uncertainty estimation for a geological model using gravity observations - Florian Wellmann, Miguel de la Varga
  11. :whitecheckmark: Claudius model - Benchmark model, Loop3D - Guillaume Caumon
  12. :whitecheckmark: Perth Basin Model - Geological model of a rift basin with thick sedimentary units - Florian Wellmann
  13. :whitecheckmark: Moureze model - Benchmark model, Loop3D - Guillaume Caumon
