Overview

This repository contains Project.toml and Manifest.toml files that define the Julia environment used in the ClimaLand MC3 Workshop tutorials.

We recommend installing Julia on your local machine, cloning this repository, and running the tutorials using this environment.

An alternative is to run the provided Jupyter notebooks within Google colaboratory, but this will require precompilation in each notebook separately (i.e. longer startup times). If you choose to use the environment provided here, this precompilation will only be done once and can be used for all tutorials.

ClimaLand MC3 Workshop Tutorials

Each tutorial is written up in a Jupyter notebook. As described above, these can be run directly in the provided Google colaboratory sessions, or run locally by copying code sections into your Julia REPL.

  1. Default soil physics tutorial: 1simplesoil.ipynb
  2. Default canopy tutorial: 2simplecanopy.ipynb
  3. Integrated SoilCanopyModel FLUXNET tutorial: 3soilcanopy_fluxnet.ipynb
  4. Changing parameterizations in integrated LandModel: 4changingparameterizations.ipynb
  5. Global integrated LandModel tutorial: 5globalland.ipynb
  6. Simple calibration tutorial: 6simplecalibration.ipynb
  7. ClimaLand perfect model calibration: 7_calibration.ipynb

Please open the tutorials with Google colaboratory to view and run them.

Note: These notebooks are all view-only. Please make a copy of each one if you wish to make any changes!
