kba-overlap
This repository contains the code to calculate the 3 of the SDG Indicators related to protected area and other effective area-based conservation measures (OECMs) coverage of KBAs disaggregated into marine, terrestrial, freshwater and mountain KBAs.
This repository contains code to: 1. run the KBA-protected area overlap analyses 2. assign years of designation to protected areas with no reported year of designation 3. produce a series of graphical and tabluar outputs used in various reportings, including that of the SDG indicators.
These are documented in the pdf report.

Code and documentation to complete spatial overlap of Key
Biodiversity Areas (KBAs) with Protected Areas and Other
effective area-based conservation measures (OECMs) to
assess coverage of KBAs over time. These data are used in
both the IBAT country profiles
(https://www.ibat-alliance.org/) and for reporting of
indicators 14.5.1, 15.1.2 and 15.4.1 of the UN Sustainable
Development Goals.
