foliage - Release 1.7.2

With this version, Foliage now increments the value of the _version field when performing change operations. This solves an error involving optimistic locking and versions when performing multistep operations in the Change records tab.

Changes in this version: * The Change tab now lets you change item material types. * A bug in the CSV export from the Look up records tab has been fixed. If the "enhanced summary" option was selected, some records ended up with values such as <pywebio.io_ctrl.Output object at 0x09705028>. This should not happen anymore. * The minimum version of Python has been increased to 3.9.

foliage - Release 1.6.0

Changes in this version: * In the dialog for entering credentials, Foliage now checks that the value given for the OKAPI URL actually looks like a URL, to help guard against a common error where the user swaps the URL and tenant ID values. Foliage also reports error messages from Folio when the user name or user password does not exist, instead of (unhelpfully) only reporting that Folio rejected the request. * The Look up records tab now prints the item loan type when the search is for item records. * The Look up records tab now has a new Enhanced summary option; this adds additional computed field values to the summary table, at the cost of requiring additional time to look up the field values. * The Look up records tab now exports all values, even those not found. In the output (whether CSV or JSON), records which were not found will have empty field values except for the identifier field. * The file requirements.txt has updates to versions of dependencies.

foliage - Release 1.5.5

Externally, this release only updates copyright years inside files such as the LICENSE file. Internally, the Makefile commands for producing the macOS installer have been slightly tweaked.

User-visible changes in this version: * :wrench: Update: this version updates the pattern used to recognize Catech accession numbers, because the accession number format seems to have been changed again by FOLIO. * :wrench: Update: the action buttons in the Change records and Delete records tabs are now colored blue instead of red. The original choice for red was motivated by a desire to warn people they were about to perform a dangerous operation, but using red in this context is also inconsisten from a user-interface perspective and probably confusing to some people. * :wrench: Update: Foliage now uses the storage APIs for items and holdings when doing deletions, instead of using the inventory APIs. The original motivation for using the inventory APIs for these operations was that the inventory API "does more" and might lead to more complete updates on the FOLIO server side, but because this hypothetical idea was not really ever confirmed and FOLIO's representatives use the storage APIs themselves anyway, the feeling now is that it's safer to just do what they do. * :wrench: Update: the documentation was a little bit out of date with respect to the current Foliage interface. This update brings it up for past recent changes as well as minor changes in 1.5.0. * :ant: Bug fix: the export button in the Clean tab previously did not work because of internal coding errors. Fixed. * :ant: Bug fix: when exporting the results of deleting records, the order of the entries in the exported list confusingly did not reflect the order in which the deletion operations were actually performed. Fixed.

This version also includes some internal code cleanup that has no impact on functionality.

This version fixes a serious bug in how deletions of instance records were done (or rather, not done). The previous code failed to correctly issue the deletion to SRS, which meant deletions were not actually being effectuated in EDS.

This version adds new new features: * The Change Records tab now supports changing the loan type on records. * A new tab, Clean Records, is available. It currently has one capability: to delete "phantom" loans based on user id's, meaning loan records associated with users but for items that no longer exist in Folio.

Changes in this version: * Fixes an error deleting instance records that didn't have a corresponding SRS record. The new approach just ignores a missing SRS record and proceeds with deletions in the FOLIO storage and inventory systems. * Now accepts Caltech user id's with or without the leading 000. Previously, unless a UID had the the form 0001234567, Foliage would fail to find records. Now it tries a second time after adding leading 0's. * Updates some dependency versions in requirements.txt.

A late-breaking discovery forced another release. It turns out that PyPI will not accept a package that uses a git+https:// package dependency, which means Foliage can't be uploaded as it was. So, this release changes the requirements.txt file again, changes the installation process, and reduces the installation options.

Changes in this version: * Use a fork of PyWebIO 1.4.0 with just the changes I need to fix a couple of limitations in the framework. Foliage's requirements.txt file references the fork in GitHub, so that installation of Foliage will get that version instead of the official PyWebIO version from PyPI. * Update the (internal) constant used to recognize accession numbers. * Fix a UI bug in the Look up records tab, wherein clicking the Look up records button while it was already running could result in multiple output streams and confusing output.

foliage - Release 1.2.4

Changes in this version: * If the FOLIO token is invalidated by EBSCO, then when Foliage starts up, the only option given to the user is to quit. If the user couldn't run the command-line version with -K, then they were unable to ever cause Foliage to regenerate the token. Fixed. The new code gives the user the option of editing the credentials and trying again. * On Windows, Excel files might not have been recognized because Foliage didn't consider enough candidate MIME types. Fixed. * Changed the Lookup tab to print the total number of records found (in addition to the number looked up).
