This program is used to calculate the aerosol complex refractive index from: - aerosol absorption coefficient ($\beta_{abs}$ Mm-1) - aerosol scattering coefficent ($\beta_{sca}$ Mm-1) - aerosol particle size distribution (e.g. dN/dlog #.cm-3)
Inputs
input data are under inputs folder:
- aux_inputs contains:
- 1.size_diameters.dat (a file with two columns 1: particle diameters (nm) and dlog)
- shape_factor.dat for each particle diameter
- wl_input.dat, a column of wavelengths in nm for the OPTCRI output i.e. (370, 470, 520,...))
- config contains an input.sed file to drive the configuration of the program
- data contains the input tab-separated files of absorption, scattering and size distribution data. Date is in the %Y-%m-%d %H:%M:%S format. the data folder contains a subfolder for the station (i.e. PRG) and other subfolders for the sensitivity tests inputs (i.e. CTRLmeanSMPS). An example of the file is:
``` inputs/data/PRG/CTRLmeanSMPS/absorptionCTRL.csv TIME ABSCOEFF(370) ABSCOEFF(470) ABSCOEFF(520) ABSCOEFF(590) ABSCOEFF(660) ABSCOEFF(880) ABSCOEFF(950) 2022-06-15 00:00:00 16.297511078834184 11.97029132079622 10.46485663028755 8.781774642197588 7.633109543864801 5.471914732366452 5.092368220873601
```
- LUT (contains the Look up tables created from created with the LUT=0 option in the *.sed file)
Before launching the program, install the conda environment:
bash
conda env create -f CONDA_ENV.yaml
For the PRG (urban) site, modify the following file:
optcri.PRG.sed
( it will look for a file like optcri.$site.par where $site is PRG)
Afterwards it is necessary to create the LUT. In this regards run the program with $lutflag=0:
bash
./run.sh
This will create LUT tables under input/LUT/PRG/.
Now you can set $lutflag==1 and run th file (./run.sh).
you can run OPTCRI also by running:
bash
./optcri.sh optcri.par dstart dend ndays
where dstart is the starting day in %Y%m%d format
where dend is the ending day in %Y%m%d format
ndays is the is the ending day in %Y%m%d format
optcri.par is a generic par that you have to modify to your needs.
Absorption, scattering and particle size distribution LEVEL 2 input data are avaialable at https://across.aeris-data.fr/
