- ITATION.cff to the root of the repository (moved it) to be accessible as citation and to read additional information within the GitHub repository.

doi-exercise - doi-exercise - release version 1.4.0
Release Version 1.3.5 should have been already the next major release in this exercise as the .zenodo.json file was completely constructed anew.
This is considered here now.
In addition, the references are further adjusted (a list has been used instead of a string) and a publication_date was added as this was not extracted automatically. The text for the description is still kept. Below the text from v1.3.5 on the funding statement linked to this test:

doi-exercise - doi-exercise - release version 1.3.5
Update: Note, this should have been already the next major release - see v1.3.6 which should now be v1.4.0.
Added - zenodo.json created anew - inspired and considering a schema.json from zenododraft - considering and aligning with the zenodo deposit_form.json. - considering and aligning with current metadata editor options at the zenodo sandbox instance - aligning with previous release version's conversion observed from my CITATION.cff file
Some tests might remain:
- is it required to provide the publication date?
- doi is left empty is this a problem (better remove it completely?)
- type is not softwarehere, is this overwritten when providing 'other' instead for uplaodtype and resourcetype?
- tried to add a reference now as one string. Does this work? References were not taken over into zenodo metadata before. This is also mentioned for the cffconvert tool that it can not convert the references currently.
- adjusted indentations to an example from zenododraft after trying the developer's documentation which did not work.

zenodo had now problems with the metadata. Moved CITATION.cff in prepared directory and renamed .zenodo.json to zenodo.json as suggested in cffconvert README command.

Added - .zenodo.json using cffconvert installed in a python (3.12.1) environment from here: https://github.com/citation-file-format/cffconvert (https://zenodo.org/doi/10.5281/zenodo.1162057) - CITATION.cff was previously tested with the same tool if it was valid. Result: "Citation metadata are valid according to schema version 1.2.0." - adapted CITATION.cff with respect to the affiliation (city and country were otherwise missing in the .zenodo.json)
