Collatio
This subfolder contains materials for the collatio of the Lucidario, a work in progress for a critical edition in preparation. The documents are organized into folders with correlative numbers for each chapter, each containing up to four subfolders: '1. Textos', '2. Colación', '3. Rúbrica', and '4. Edición' (or sometimes '3. Edición').
- Textos: This subfolder contains the original transcriptions (by witness), which are divided into two subfolders:
- Marcados: This folder includes the normalized transcriptions in Ms. Word with the original punctuation, page foliation, and a color code to highlight passages requiring attention. The color code is as follows:
- $${\color{red}Red}$$: duplications or errors identified by the scribes (but not cancelled)
- $${\color{orange}Orange}$$: text in Arabic, Hebrew, or Latin or lacunae
- $${\color{blue}Blue}$$: additions or corrections by medieval hands different from the main scribe(s).
- Limpios: This folder contains the normalized transcriptions in Ms. Word without punctuation, foliation, or color coding (and all text previously highlighted in red is now deleted).
- Colación: This subfolder can contain up to two plain text files. These files are ChrysoCollate (https://cental.uclouvain.be/chrysocollate) collation files.
- 'Chapter Number+_separado': This file contains all collated witnesses with their readings in separate, individual columns.
- 'Chapter Number+_unido': This file contains all collated witnesses with all common readings across witnesses grouped in blocks.
- Rúbrica: All rubrics have been extracted from the chapters and compiled into separate Ms. Word documents named 'Rúbrica + Chapter Number', located in the folder. If this subfolder does not exist, the chapter does not have a rubric in any of the witnesses. The document in this folder contains the definite (collated) title for the chapter, along with a complete listing of the rubrics found in each witness (including those from a table of contents, if applicable).
- Edición (or 3. Edición, when the Rúbrica subfolder is absent): This subfolder contains a single Ms. Word with the exported, edited version of the chapter.
Nota Bene This work is ongoing, so not all chapters have all subfolders at this moment, and most 'Edición' folders do not exist. They will be added as the collation progresses, with an estimated completion time of July 2026.
Stylo
This subfolder contains plain text files for stylometric analysis, separated by witness. 'Enteros' contains the same files as '2. Limpios' in the '2. Colación' folder, but in .txt format. 'Limpios' here excludes Latin passages to minimize stylistic contamination. Each witness folder also contains a full transcription, excluding duplicate pasages, Arabic, Hebrew, or Latin quotes, page numbers, and rubrics. A separate text file has been created for the rubrics of each witness.
Scripts
This subfolder contains various scripts for BBEdit, Mac Terminal, and R, along with a set of normalization criteria developed for the collatio of semi-paleographic transcriptions of medieval Spanish and Neo-Latin texts.

The repository also holds the transcription of the only medieval Spanish translation of Honorius Augustodunensis' Elucidarium, the Lucidario romanceado, preserved in the Biblioteca Histórica Marqués de Valdecilla of the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, ms. 148, which I have edited in Incipit's issue 41.

Collatio
This subfolder contains the materials for the collatio of the Lucidario, a work in progress for a critical edition in preparation. The Word files are distributed in folders with correlative numbers for each chapter. Each of these contains a 'Marcados' subfolder (documents for each witness containing the normalized text WITH punctuation and page foliation, without any mark except a color code) and a 'Limpios' subfolder (documents without punctuation but with the aforementioned color code: red for identifiable mistakes, orange for Latin and lacunae, and blue for corrections by hands different to the scribe or scribes). The rubrics have been extracted and placed in a separate document in the main chapter folder, titled 'Rubrica + Chapter Number'). Also in the main folder, you will find a plain text file called 'Chapter Number+_separado', which is the first collation file for ChryscoCollate.
Note that these collation files are incomplete (i.e., not all witnesses have been added yet), and not all chapters have a collation file. They will be added regularly as the collation progresses.
Stylo
This subfolder contains plain text files separated by witness for stylometric analysis. 'Enteros' contains the same files as 'Limpios' in the Collatio folder, but in .txt format, whereas 'Limpios' here contains those files without Latin and duplicated readings, in order to minimize the alteration of the text style. Each witness folder also contains a full transcription for the witness, but without the duplicate passages, Latin quotes, page numbers, or rubrics.
A Separate text file has been created for the rubrics of each witness.
Scripts
This subfolder contains some useful scripts for BBEdit, Mac Terminal and R, as well as a set of normalization criteria developed for the collatio of semipaleographic transcriptions of medieval Spanish texts.
