Ethical Design for AI-Based Emotional Support Tools

Version 1.0 – July 2025

“Companionship, not correction. Presence, not pressure. Support, not surveillance.”

📝 Overview

The Navigate Companion Framework™ is the ethical foundation and methodology behind the Navigate Support Companions — AI tools designed to help real people through real challenges, including:

  • Chronic Pain
  • Anxiety
  • Menopause
  • Dementia (for carers)

Unlike productivity tools or generic chatbots, Navigate offers emotionally intelligent support using a structure informed by:

  • 40+ books per product domain
  • Clinical therapy models (CBT, DBT, ACT, CFT, etc.)
  • NICE and NHS digital guidelines
  • Prompt audits and real-world interaction analysis
  • Feedback from sufferers, carers, and practitioners
