This is the first official release of TaxSEA (Taxon Set Enrichment Analysis). TaxSEA is designed for rapid annotation of changes observed in microbiome association studies. It tests for enrichment in producers of specific metabolites or associations with marker taxa for particular diseases. As many of the databases are disproportionately focused on the human gut microbiome this is where TaxSEA will perform best. However, TaxSEA can be applied in any context.
