Python For Finance
Note: This readme. utilizes URL Ecoding of math functions which are displaayed in black text. Thus the Equations will not be visisble in dark mode.
Variance
The formula for calculating variance is:
- σ2: variance
- Xi: the ith value in the dataset
- X̄: the mean of the dataset
- n: the number of values in the dataset
Standard Deviation
Standard deviation is simply the square root of the variance. It has the same unit as the original dataset.
