  Debido a la llamada “democratización del
  espacio”(1),la humanidad dispone de una gran
  cantidad deimágenes satelitales de todo el planeta
  en tiempo real.Estas contienen datos que
  resultarían valiosos paradiversas aplicaciones,
  como la fertilidad del suelo enuna granja, el
  congestionamiento de las calles en unaciudad o
  hasta la detección temprana de incendiosforestales.
  La única razón por la cual no aprovechamosesta
  posibilidad es la falta de métodos eficaces
  paraanalizarlas. Una alternativa sería extraer
  lainformación manualmente, resultaría imposible
  debidoal volumen de la misma. Nuestro proyecto
  consiste endesarrollar herramientas que procesen
  estas imágenesautomáticamente con el objetivo de
  ayudar a mejorarla calidad de vida de la población.
  Para lograrlo,llegamos a un acuerdo de trabajo
  conjunto conSatellogic, una compañía argentina que
  planifica teneruna constelación de 300 satélites
  que generen un mapade la Tierra en tiempo real.
  Ellos nos proveen lasimágenes necesarias para
  entrenar a nuestrosalgoritmos de inteligencia
  artificial.
