*** **Biography:** Dr Patricia Agudelo-Romero hold an undergraduate engineering degree from the [University of Llanos](https://www.unillanos.edu.co) (Colombia) along with a Masters and PhD degree from [The National School of Public Health of Spain](https://www.isciii.es/QuienesSomos/CentrosPropios/ENS/Paginas/default.aspx) and the [Polytechnical University of Valencia](http://www.upv.es/en). Since, she has held postdoctoral positions in the [University of Lisbon](https://www.ulisboa.pt/en) (Portugal), as well as the [University of Western Australia](https://www.uwa.edu.au) and the [Telethon Kids Institute](https://www.telethonkids.org.au) (Australia), elucidating the interactions of microorganisms and various hosts. Through her postdocs, she has demonstrated great agility transitioning from plant to medical science and established a research platform. At [Telethon](https://www.telethonkids.org.a), within the [Wal-Yan Respiratory Research Centre](https://walyanrespiratory.telethonkids.org.au), she is leading the bioinformatics research in the [Airway Epithelial Research](https://www.telethonkids.org.au/our-research/chronic-and-severe-diseases/respiratory-health/airway-epithelial-research/) and [P4 Respiratory Health for Kids](https://www.telethonkids.org.au/our-research/chronic-and-severe-diseases/respiratory-health/p4-respiratory-health-for-kids/) teams, investigating host-microorganism interactions in chronic respiratory diseases.
