# Ecosystem Functional Types for Sierra Nevada (southern Spain) GEE code

[![DOI](https://zenodo.org/badge/587690912.svg)](https://zenodo.org/badge/latestdoi/587690912)

This repository contains the Google Earth Engine (GEEE) code used to compute the Ecosystem Functional Attributes (EFAs) and Ecosystem Functional Types (EFTs) of a specific period (2001-2018) for Sierra Nevada mountain area (southern Spain). For a detailed description see Cazorla et al. 2021.

This code was used for the generation of the following dataset, which is deposited in PANGAEA:

> Cazorla BP, Cabello J, Reyes A, Guirado E, Peas J, Prez-Luque AJ, Alcaraz-Segura D. (2019). Ecosystem functioning and functional diversity of Sierra Nevada (SE Spain). University of Almera and Granada, [doi: 10.1594/PANGAEA.904575](https://doi.pangaea.de/10.1594/PANGAEA.904575)

The code could be accessed directly on Google Earth Engine, using this [link](https://code.earthengine.google.com/246dee63522ae557603ab7e44bdbbad5).

A data Paper with the description of the methods, dataset and study cases is under revision at *Earth System Science Data*. See [here](https://essd.copernicus.org/preprints/essd-2021-223/#discussion)

In addition an app for the visualization of the dataset and the download of the annual maps generated is availabe at [https://obsnev.es/apps/efts_SN.html](https://obsnev.es/apps/efts_SN.html).
